Corinne Felgate (B. 1984 – UK) makes works that attempt to rewrite the world in both modest and ambitious ways, often with wry humour. Nearly always site- or context-specific, Felgate uses a myriad of materials, processes and techniques that examine our relationship to luxury, power, failure, sexuality and industry through the exploration of everyday objects. She first studied Linguistics at University College London, before studying at The Slade, and later completing a MA in Sculpture at Wimbledon College of Art in 2008. Since this time, her work has been commissioned by Tate Modern (London), The National Gallery (London) and The British Ceramics Biennial, and has been exhibited at institutions including Tate Modern (London), Palazzo Grassi (Italy), the David Roberts Foundation (London), and Inhotim (Brazil). Her work is in numerous private and public collections including that of acclaimed artist Yinka Shonibare MBE.
